Folk and pop rock artiste, Niaz Diasamidze’s isa poet, musician, and multi-instrumentalist. The founder of 33a folk rock band Niaz uses guitar, keyboard and the panduri, a Georgian steinged instrument.

In the rugged mountains of Kazbegi, the legends of orthodox hermitage, the echoes of Georgian folklore:  Amirani (the Georgian version of Prometheus), glaciers, fortresses and monasteries; kings, princes and relics have co-existed bearing witness to all those who passed through-  the Turks, Persians, Byzantines, Arabs, Mongols, Romans and more recently the Russians.

As the car rocks you to the rhythms of the Niaz’ music, you realise, you too are passing through; the Caucasus standing as a silent witness.
